Dr. Cattral is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is the Surgical Director of the Living-Donor Liver Transplantation Program at the Toronto General Hospital, and a Senior Scientist in the Toronto General Research Institute.  Dr. Cattral completed General Surgery training at University Alberta and Transplantation Fellowship training at University of Chicago with Dr. Frank Stuart and at University of Nebraska with Drs. Byers (Bud) Shaw and Alan Langnas. He joined the Department of Surgery at Toronto General Hospital in 1993.  He initiated the pediatric living-donor liver transplant program in 1996, and played a key role in developing the adult living-donor liver transplant program since it began in 2000. His basic research interests include dendritic cell biology, cancer immunotherapy, and immunologic tolerance.
