There are two major airports in Houston, Texas:
- George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) – This is the larger of the two airports and serves as a hub for United Airlines. It offers flights to and from many domestic and international destinations.
- William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) – This airport is smaller than IAH and primarily serves domestic destinations, although it does offer some international flights to destinations in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
Both airports are operated by the Houston Airport System and offer a range of amenities and services for travellers, including dining, shopping, and transportation options.
The Westin Galleria Houston is located near both of Houston’s major airports, George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU). Here are some options for airport transfers to the hotel:
- Taxi: Taxis are readily available at both airports and can take you directly to the hotel. The ride from IAH takes approximately 30-40 minutes, while the ride from HOU takes approximately 25-35 minutes, depending on traffic.
- Shuttle service: The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from both airports for a fee. You can arrange for the shuttle service in advance by contacting the hotel directly.
- Rideshare: Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are also available at both airports and can take you directly to the hotel.
- Car rental: If you prefer to have your own transportation, you can rent a car at either airport and drive to the hotel. The hotel offers on-site parking for a fee.

A badge is required for admittance to all official conference sessions and events, as well as the Exhibition and Poster Area. Each participant is asked to present the badge in order to gain access to the conference. The badge must be clearly displayed.

After the congress, you will receive an email inviting you to complete the evaluation survey. Upon completing the survey, your certificate of attendance will be issued and sent to you.
In May, Houston has warm and humid weather with average high temperatures in the mid-80s Fahrenheit (around 29°C) and frequent rainfall. It’s a great time to visit for outdoor activities, but be prepared for rain and pack lightweight, breathable clothing, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
The ILTS 2024 app will be available on both iOS and Android stores, through this congress app you can view all the information on the scientific program, speakers, exhibitors, and abstracts. You can navigate through the following modules in just one click, and easily get direct access to all congress information:
- “Program” gives you access to the scientific program and all relevant information about presentations and speakers.
- “Speaker List” gives you an overview of all chairs and speakers of the congress.
- Locate exhibitors through the “Exhibitor List“.
- Under “ILTS” you can learn more about the International Liver Transplantation Society and become a member.
- Ensure you find the correct session locations under “Maps”.
- “Information” provides any further info you might need, i.e. opening hours, venue access, contacts, and other practical information from A-Z.
- See what’s going on during the congress and stay tuned with “Social Media”
- Bookmark sessions, speakers and exhibitors and make notes everywhere in the app. Through “My Congress” you can see an overview of your preferences and get your personal attendance report.

The currency used in Houston, Texas, is the United States dollar (USD). The US dollar is the official currency of the United States and is widely accepted throughout the country.

In Houston, the standard voltage for electricity is 120 volts at 60 Hz, and the electrical outlets are Type A and Type B, which are the same as those used throughout the United States and Canada. If you’re traveling from outside North America, you may need an adapter for your electrical devices. In case of a power outage, have a flashlight and backup battery pack ready.
In Houston, the emergency phone number to call for police, fire, or medical emergencies is 911. This number is free to call from any phone, and operators are available 24/7 to assist with emergencies.
An ePoster is an electronic version of the traditional paper poster which is displayed on a computer or mobile device. You will be able to consult the ePosters by using one of the ePoster stations located within the Exhibition Area in the Woodway I-II.
The ePosters are indexed by topic and you will have the possibility to post messages to the authors of the ePosters.
The ePoster stations are located on the 4th Floor in the Woodway I-II and are open from Wednesday 18:00 to Saturday 12:15.

Out of respect for speakers’ copyright, it is forbidden to take pictures and/or to film during any session.
The welcome reception will take place in the exhibition hall on Wednesday, May 1, from 19:30 to 21:00. Take this opportunity to meet fellow delegates in a relaxed environment.

Lost items can be collected at the Registration desks during the conference. Any objects found during the conference and not claimed will remain at the Congress Venue.

The MTE Sessions have been placed in the specially set-up Knowledge Hub of the Congress Center. This space has been developed with a goal to create a more relaxed, interactive environment which would facilitate conversation and an exchange between the Speakers and the participants. The number of participants in the Knowledge Hub is limited to 50 and the audience will therefore be formed on a first come – first served basis. There is no possibility of pre-registration.

The Opening Ceremony is taking place on Wednesday, 1, May 2024, from 18:15 to 19:30. This will be followed by the opening reception from 19:30 to 21:00 in the exhibition area.

The Westin Galleria Houston offers both valet and self-parking options for a fee. Electric vehicle charging stations are also available. If you’re visiting the Galleria shopping mall, there are several parking options available, some of which are free.
Metrorail is responsible for the coordination of public transport in Houston.
